The Secret to Success
Once upon a time, in a small quiet village, there lived a wise man named Chiga. People often came to him for advice because he always seemed to know how to make sense of life’s toughest questions.
One day, a young man, full of ambition but unsure where to start, went to Chiga and said, “Master, please teach me the secret to success. I want to know how people make it in life.”
Chiga looked at him calmly and replied, “Meet me by the river tomorrow at sunrise. I’ll show you what you want to know.”
The next morning, the young man showed up, curious and eager. The two of them walked into the river until the water reached their necks. Then, without warning, Chiga held the young man’s head under the water. Shocked and struggling, the young man tried to break free, fighting to breathe. Just when he thought he couldn’t hold on any longer, Chiga pulled him up.
The young man gasped for air, breathing heavily, his heart pounding.
After a moment, Chiga asked, “When you were under the water, what did you want the most?”
Still catching his breath, the young man said, “Air! All I wanted was air!”
Chiga nodded and said softly, “That’s the secret to success. When you want success as much as you wanted air just now, nothing will stop you from achieving it.”
Moral of the Story
A burning desire is the foundation of every great success. If your passion is weak, your effort will be too.
Just like a small fire can’t give off much heat, a small desire can’t produce big results.
When your goal becomes something you need — something you breathe — you’ll find a way, no matter what stands in your path.
Success begins the moment you stop wishing and start wanting it with all your heart.
Desire it. Work for it. Breathe it. Success will follow.
